Get Away & Get It Done

We're opening world headquarters for 3 days a month for small groups (max of 5) to work on technical issues for FREE! You can't beat the price!

This will help you learn the skills, and give you time to implement them before you go back to doing what you do best!

The way it works - get together 3-4 of your buddies, (or make some new ones!) who are at the same technical level or want to learn the same thing: Whether it be sending broadcasts, building blogs, recording podcasts, setting up your YouTube Channel, or setting up your Social Networking sites.

As time permits, we'll be doing video and worksheets for each of these topics to add to the academy library. However, we realize that sometimes you just need to get away from your business to be able to actually DO the work. That is the purpose here.

So, pick a topic, then find out if space is available, and I'll come up with your lesson plan.

A suggested format would be...

I'll provide the venue, the internet connection, instruction & handouts.

For the blogging and podcasting, I will have a video camera and digital camera and microphone available to use - however, these are things that would be good to have yourself if you're going to continue working on them independently.

You'll provide the laptop, content, and elbow grease.

Once I know your topic(s), I'll send you a prep list, so that we can just get right to work when you arrive.

For YouTube, it would great if you could bring some raw video footage of the neighborhoods and towns you're targeting. You can even leave them in the camera, and we'll work together to download & edit the footage. You know, it's hard to do video of Boston neighborhoods while you're in Florida or Toronto.

Follow-up Support

Now that I have 5 workshops "under my belt", so to speak, I've been noticing things...

During the workshop, the enthusiasm, work and commitment to continue is at an all-time high.  Then, you go back to working IN your business.  And I'm starting to get requests for follow-up workshops -- I don't know whether it's to be a more advanced workshop, or simply reminders... or even finishing up tasks.

So, I'm going to start (next week) with follow-up messages.  This will give a little direction for your remodel time - as related to our BEFORE unit.  I'm thinking of incorporating some of David Allen's Getting Things Done suggestions for formatting...

1. Next Step Action -- this will take you 2 minutes.
2. Strategy to Incubate -- this will be something for you to think about and allow to incubate -- it will give you an idea that will require a decision about some strategy that I'll be addressing the following week.
3. Project -- this will require 50-minutes of focused effort.

Not all of the messages will be relevant to you and your business.  Please just take it as my effort to help you succeed with the materials and technologies we presented during the workshop.

I like to use it as a BONDING and Networking Tool.
So, please be strategic in what you say and post. :)

I like to use my STATUS to let my contacts know what I'm working on that may be relevant to their lives... for you -- putting together a homebuyer workshop -- helping so&so sell their home -- helping so&so find their dream home -- updating my marketwatch blog of tulsa properties for sale...

THEN... you can also link it to your blog -- (see my video) and in that way, you can demonstrate your expertise in interpreting local and national events into layman's terms of how it affects buying or selling a home in Tulsa -- this will post to your NOTES -- then anyone who is a contact can see what you have to say!

Lastly, use the 6 degrees of separation -- we know a lot of the same people -- and most of mine would be great referrals throughout North America... so wander along and look at my FRIENDS... you can invite them to become your friend with just a click.  It's WAY cool.

The key is to take that information and translate it through your
experience and knowledge as a real estate professional. 

Even 2 paragraphs would be a great insight.  Remember, write as if you ran into me in the grocery store and are making conversation with ME (one specific person) as either a home buyer or home seller, not to the world at large.

How to make Inactive subscribers Active in GetResponse

Sometimes you have an "oops". Well, at least I do.

I've discovered if you "disable" all of your messages in your campaign, then all of your subscribers become inactive. Yeah, oops!

So, if this has happened to you, first, enable at least one of your messages (like the one on day 365), then go to SUBSCRIBERS >>COPY SUBSCRIBERS, choose the appropriate campaign and select INACTIVE, then choose where in the cycle you'd like to add them back in.

The risk with this -- is if you've made people inactive intentionally, they will become active again.

Getting around THAT, is a more advanced, another video for another day.

I went to the get away workshop on December 9th and I could not imagine anyone not going. Sony gave it all. I was a little intimidated knowing full well I could never master this like Sony.

I quickly realized that I didn't need to. Once I got back to Kansas City I hired a VA to do this for me. My grandson also stepped in to really get the ball rolling.

Sony presented us with the preview of the flip camera. I am now the proud owner of an insignia camera very similar and oh, so convenient. We have already started working on the visual presentations. My blogging is already set up and ready to roll.

For any of you planning on going, my total cost of this trip was $403, including all meals, lodging air fare, car rental and tips. I stayed at the Best Western in Winter Haven for four nights, which included the above figures. The Best Western was completely updated with wi-fi, breakfast and everything for about $60 per night.

It was one of the best investments that I ever made.

Lina - I would highly recommend going to see Sony.  I learned so many things to do and even better, I started doing them and my business has increased in this awful market.  Not only did the 3 days change my attitude but I got really energized and committed to doing some things differently from my peers.  I am using Facebook and Craigs List and I am actually meeting with a new family on Monday that has come to me as a result of my Craig's List Bank-Owned Ad.  They are relocating from California and not necessarily interested in a foreclosure.  It has taken a month of religiously doing what Sony has showed me to do but my first new baby is walking through the door tomorrow.  

 

There are some Mom & Pop hotels close to Sony's office (she has a list) that charge under $90/night and you are "in class" from 9 a.m. to at least 5 or 6 at night.  I found myself practicing different things until well into the evening after dinner.  The weather is fabulous and Sony is more than willing to share her knowledge.  I plan on going back for another refresher and I can't believe she is not CHARGING us for this course.  It is just unbelievable.  

 

When I arrived, I knew less than most of the boys but everyone was patient and I found that I worked at a higher level being surrounded by the others.
